That is indeed very big! It's a good thing nothing wrong happened. Still... the mom should have had check ups etc. prior to giving birth. She had made a great risk doing that.

I had GDM too when I was pregnant with Ericka. I was diagnosed with it on my 20th week of gestation. My OB required me of more frequent visits than the usual pregnancy because of it. Hubby and I don't mind. All for the baby. I couldn't imagine how careless of a mom not to opt for prenatal care. Sorry for sounding so judgmental. It's just unbelievable, IMHO.
