I agree. When my eldest was born, my in-laws and sissy gave me some hand me downs. Who wouldn't say no to a playpen, Little Fisher toy and some Avent items to boot? I was just thankful!

I saved a lot of money. I was worried at first but when everybody started giving me things for the baby, I was able to breathe easily.

Yep, I don't mind getting hand me downs as well as long as they're decent enough and operate well then I'm good.

Same here, hand me downs are awesome but to be honest, I would want new baby stuff as a birthday gift or a baptismal present.
