Default My question about Duphaston

I was advised by my doctor to go on a 2-week bed rest. I had a slight internal bleeding last week and presently taking Duphaston for my baby to "cling on" tightly. Ever since I found out that I was pregnant, I hoped for an excellent pregnancy, and just last week I got this very frightening news. I'm bothered if the chemicals and synthetic ingredients in Duphaston could harm my baby? I understand it's recommended to stop my bleeding and ensure my baby's safety, but does it have adverse side-effects which my baby might suffer from?

If the doctors advised you to take it then I guess he/she is the professional in the matter. If side effects trouble you, it would be best to ask your doctor directly about it.

How are you Idalia?
Duphaston is fine. Of course it does have synthetic ingredients as it's a prescription. But be rest assured that taking it to save your baby is far more important than thinking about the effects of it later on. I also took Duphaston on my 8th week with my eldest. He is doing very well now. So I think your baby will do good too. Rest well and be healthy!

Oh Idalia, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you and your baby are fine now. Don't worry, everything will be fine.

I'm already done taking Duphaston but still a bit worried with the effects. But I appreciate those kinds words Gaetana.

Thank you ladies!

My OB-gyn told me that Duphaston is safe and that it strengthens the endometrium to avoid a miscarriage. I'm just curious as to why my OB didn't check my progesterone levels prior to prescribing me this.

Yeah, time flies so fast that the lady is now holding her cutesy baby.

I agree. All the pains and sacrifices during pregnancy and labor are just all worth it. Glad the lady's able to overcome them successfully.
