Default Pregnant? Then what's the 1st thing to do?

The moment I found out that I was pregnant, I recalled staring at the ceiling for an estimated 10 minutes. I dunno if thoughts rushed on that time frame or I just had a mental block. On a serious note, I did call my family first, knowing that my ex-boyfriend couldn't care less. My mum told me to inform my ex. Then I did. I got surprised that he cared as much as I did. LOL. Right now, we're in good terms, I didn't really believe that lovers could be friends but I admit, our relationship now is far more better now than when we're together.

What did you do when you found out that you're expecting?
I know people respond differently to anything, but what is/are the MOST ADVISABLE thing/s to do then?

The first thing I did was to call my hubby first and called my OB GYN for a check up and TVS (transvaginal ultrasound)

I'm glad all's well with you and your baby's dad.
The 1st trimester is the most crucial stage so a great support system is very much needed during these times. Family, friends and medical practitioners are mostly the people who will help you big time.

I agree with you Abana, finding the right people as a support system during a pregnancy, whether a smooth or easy one, is a great way also to avoid post-partum depression.

I totally agree with you Abana. Me and my ex-husband were having an extremely rocky relationship when I found out that I was pregnant with my eldest. It's a blessing that God has given me my family and BFFs as the best support system for me to overcome any stresses and difficulties during pregnancy. Now that my hubby loves his step-son so much, I couldn't imagine how good my support system was in helping me have a positive outlook in life, and then finding the right man for me and my kids.

Aw, Gaetana, I'm glad that you now have a happy family despite the past difficulties. It's true that there's a sunshine after the rain; there's always happiness after every sorrow...

Here are the things I did:

Called my mom.
Tweeted the good news.
Posted the good news on my FB wall.
Scheduled an OB GYN appointment.
Prayed, thanking God for the blessing of life and asking for his guidance and protection during my pregnancy and motherhood.

Oh, how detailed of that! I can't wait to post the actual reaction when that day of ecstasy happens!
