I've got cousins who are twins. I admire their parents on how they deal with everything times two!! I mean it's hard work parenting one child alone.

It's true. But if you're only ready for one and turns out you got two or three, have faith, God will provide for those bundle of joy!

Re: Twins, Triplets and Multiple Births
If a woman undergoes multiple birth, say octuplets, I believe she and her kids are entitled to some kind of financial assistance from the government.

Yeah, I've heard about that. But seems like a recent case somehow was related to an experiment or something. The mom has previous cases of multiple births. Will definitely research on that.

Learnt about that news as well. Is it true that the health of the kids were compromised as they were not getting sufficient nutrients and care when they were still unborn?

Re: Twins, Triplets and Multiple Births
Last night Fox Network aired a 2-hour special about Nadya Suleman, the now-infamous 'Octomom' that showed footage of her life with 14 children.
The show showed life with 6 small children under 8 and 8 infants. Despite the presence of nannies, the children often seemed to be out of control and there was quite a bit of crying, screaming, and attention-getting from the older children.
At times, Suleman spoke about the fact that she was a deeply private person and that she hadn't chosen her fame, that it was thrust upon her. She also spoke about Kate Gosselin of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" and said that she wasn't nearly as interested in attention as she felt Gosselin was.
She also talked openly with the person behind the camera, often with screaming kids around her or crying babies in her arms.
Suleman admitted that she lives in fear of the children being abducted and spoke about a former nanny who commented on how easy it would be to kidnap the children. She has installed security gates and cameras around her home. The footage also showed a trip to the park with the children, with paparazzi following her and taking pictures of the children at the park.
At times, Suleman seemed to be frank, admitting that she made a mistake in having so many children and that she had messed up her life and that of her children. However, she said, the children were here and she loved them. In addition, Suleman said that having children without a father was a selfish thing to do.
At other times, Suleman seemed a little less stable, talking about the fact that she feared her home was haunted.
While Suleman was not directly involved in the production, Fox put a six-figure amount of money into an account for her children.
So, parents, thoughts? Did you watch? What did you think? Is Suleman someone who is trying her best and simply is in a situation that would make most of us a little nuts? Or is this a bad situation that is only getting worse?

Money isn't enough in raising these kids. Looking forward to a father figure and a healthy life for these kids.

Re: Twins, Triplets and Multiple Births
Good thing you've shared this Abana.
Well, I'm glad she has her kids, and I'm dying to have one! But personally, that number is just too much, especially with the absence of a father. If we're talking about the ancient times where there's no access to birth controls and contraceptives then it is understandable. But these days, having lots of kids by choice, without a spouse to share love and responsibilities with, then this action is foul IMHO.

I agree with you. Having given birth just last January, I admit, I feel overwhelmed with the responsibilities alongside the pain (I had C-Section) of taking care of my newborn. Thank God I have a very supportive husband and mom who are just there for me. But when we're talking about multiple, OMG, how could she do it? Not only speaking on how she takes care of their needs but it's how she divides her attention that bothers me. If it's a choice then I hope she is able to give sufficient love, care and attention to EACH one of her kids.
