What's a 28 week glucose check?

My OB mentioned this but I'm not scheduled for one. Too early. Just wanna ask if there's a required fasting for this test. Just curious..

Try to confirm it with your OB if you're having the one which requires fasting. From what I know, there are different types of glucose check and also the time of fasting for each.

Haven't tried the glucose tolerance test or GTT but my friend said the solution she took tastes awful. One of my colleagues mentioned that she was given a solution which tasted more of a soda pop. I guess the flavor varies on what each obstetrician gives.

This is a test meant to check your blood sugar levels. From what I remember, I never did any fasting before. But the thing I could assure you is it is indeed odd tasting

It's a blood test to determine if you have a Gestational Diabetes or not.

The previous posts are all right Adalira but it's way better to confirm with your OB exactly as to which test you're gonna get.

You're indeed right Fanny, it is the GTT. The solution is chilled to it's as if I was just drinking Gatorade!

Actually, I was given a solution that tastes a little like Gatorade/lime flavored. After an hour a blood sample was taken from my arm. I needed to come back for the results after a week. Thank God my sugar levels are high!
